Quick. Keyboard Shortcuts.

A few things to keep in mind:

  1. Mac has the Option key. Windows has the Alt key. Substitute one for the other and you should be fine.
  2. I use a Mac so the list is from a Mac user’s perspective.
  3. The shortcuts below are predefined.
  4. The shortcuts below work in Xfce.
  5. This is not exhaustive. It’s not meant to be.

Open a “user” terminal window use Control + Option + T

Open a “root” terminal window use Shift + Control + Option + T

Switch between windows use Option + Tab

Close a window use Option + F4

Copy selection to clipboard use Shift + Control + C

Paste from clipboard use Shift + Control + V

Paste selection use Shift + Function + Return

Close a terminal window use Control + D

Split terminal horizontally use Shift + Control + D

Split terminal vertically use Shift + Control + R

Navigate subterminals. Move up one subterminal use Option + Up Arrow

Navigate subterminals. Move down one subterminal use Option + Down Arrow

Navigate subterminals. Move left one subterminal use Option + Left Arrow

Navigate subterminals. Move right one subterminal use Option + Right Arrow
